Maryland Film Festival Recap -- Retail -- Reviews

Stomp! Shout! Scream! screened at the Charles Theater as part of the Maryland Film Festival on Mothers Day to an appreciative crowd.  A few DVDs were sold, I met some super-nice film makers and got to see some great films.  This was my 6th visit to Baltimore (The Monster Trilogy short films screened at Microcinefest and my documentary short was shown at the MFF, plus I’ve been a judge at Microcinefest).  I say this every time I talk about these experiences-- I love Baltimore.  No other festival that I’ve been to treats visiting film makers as well as these two festivals—nice accommodations, good crowds, great movies, great events (duck pin bowling, side trips to Orioles games and the Visionary Art Museum).  For independent film makers who do this for the love of creating something and often little or no financial reward, going to Baltimore is truly motivational and a highlight of every year for me.

In addition to internet sales (right HERE and now on Amazon), and direct sales at film festivals, Stomp! Shout! Scream! will also be available at selected independent retailers.  The DVD is always $20 and includes commentary from cast and crew, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes vignettes, raw footage, cast interviews, trailers, and more.

Ginny’s Antiques (5600 Marina Drive, Anna Maria Island, Florida, 941-779-1773) has been kind enough to place a basket of DVDs at the register.  Anyone on the Florida gulf coast can go by and grab a DVD just yards away from where the film was shot.

Atomic Books (1100 W. 36th Street, Baltimore, MD 21211, 410-662-4444), one of the country’s greatest book stores, is carrying it.  You can also order it on-line there along with about 1,000 other things you didn’t now existed, but now must own.

Criminal Records (466 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307, 404-215-9511) is selling 'em in Little 5 Points.  Stop by and pester Adam for a copy.

Decatur CD (356 West Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030, 404.371.9090) is the fabulous retailer of CDs and muisc DVDs on the east side of the ATL. Pick up a copy of Stomp! Shout! Scream!, then cruise over to the Brick Store for one of their 100's of delishious Beguin ales.

Stomp! Shout! Scream! has gotten some swell on-line reviews.  Check ‘em out:

Reminder:  The DVD RELEASE PARTY will be Friday, May 26 at the Atlanta Brewing Company.  Attendees will receive a Stomp! Shout! Scream! souvenir pint glass, see a screening of the film WITH the Dames Aflame Burlesque performing, dance to Catfight! live, AND drink all the delicious local brew they care to consume.  Come celebrate the DVD release in Atlanta on Memorial Day weekend.

I hate to be such a salesman, but getting the movie seen is as important as getting it made.  If you’ve seen the film and like it, tell your friends or write an on-line review on the IMDB or at Amazon.  Those things go a LONG way toward generating interest.  Thanks to everyone who has supported the film.
